The Nature School is hiring a preschool/pre-k teacher, to collaboratively facilitate Taproots, (3.5-5 year olds) through the 2023-2024 school year. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-2:00pm, with possible additional hours if interested. Pay is $20/hr, negotiable. The Nature School provides free tuition for children of teachers at the school. 

The ideal candidate 

⁃  loves and respects the varied developmental needs and strengths of children

⁃  has excellent social-emotional skills

⁃  celebrates the wide diversity of human cultures, family make-up, races, and genders

⁃  values having a relationship with the natural world

⁃  has teaching or childcare experience

⁃  Must be able to pass a background check and provide references

⁃  Must be comfortable spending 4-5 hours at a time outside in all weather

We’d love to welcome another teacher who is interested in collaborating on the school’s vision of providing joyful, meaningful, and creative community connection for families in and with nature. 

This is a great opportunity for an early childhood professional who is ready to expand their career outside, someone interested in learning more about Coyote Mentoring or nature education, or who has ecological or social equity expertise they’d like to share with young children.

Substitute Teacher

The Nature School is hiring substitute teachers for the 2022-2024 and 2023-2024 Taproots school years. Subs may be scheduled in advance for pre-scheduled teacher absences, or called in on short notice for unexpected teacher absences.

Subs must be able to pass a background check and have childcare or teaching experience. Must be comfortable being outside for 4 hours at a time in all weather. 

Pay is $20/hr. If you have a child enrolled in The Nature School, you will receive two days of free tuition for every day you sub.

Are you looking for a preschool tuition exchange? Do you want to be involved in your child's preschool class? Taproots (The Nature School's preschool/pre-k class) has an opportunity for a parent to support the class with tasks such as keeping us supplied with library books, gathering information on current curriculum topics, and other miscellaneous tasks in support of the class. The Parent Assistant does NOT need to be available during the class day, so this could be a fit for a working parent. 

The Parent Assistant will receive a tuition discount for every month they are available to help.
